Just a little exercise to set my thoughts out on the table so to speak.

I'm going to write my "dark" list on pieces of paper and burn them.

I don't have any room or desire for them and it's time to release them.

Bee Balm Bloom

Yellow Yarrow

Hen and Chicks Succulents

The trees beyond the fence along the acequia.

Plant Babies (Zinna, Poppy and Cosmos from Floret Farms in Oregon)

I want to connect with this area I live in now.

Experience.

Live.

Admire.

Be.

I am going to check in each week to highlight my awareness of this present space.

To recognize how I feel and how my world around me feels.

To be more in tune with myself, the earth and those around me.

SO without further ado...

lavender
grape vines
sage

light before 6AM
sunlight streams into the house around 9AM
after noon the sun is so extreme it's hard to spend time in it directly
as the day winds down, the yard is comfortable again after 4PM

July is monsoon month
scattered thunderstorms
cooler day temperatures
nights still get a little stuffy when it doesn't reach into the 50s

hummingbirds are everywhere
life is alive in the summer here
the trees along the acequia are ripe and verdiant
it feels like a jungle here
bird watching is mesmerizing and fun

I feel very productive in the morning
noon rolls around and I just want to lounge until late in the evening
I keep feeling old childhood memories swell up
summer at my grandparents' pool
the sky above that has seen so much
the sound of cicadas
hammocks
iced sun tea
painted toes
watching the clouds roll by

1st Day of July starting out with good vibes.
Summer Smoothie Starter

Cleansing our space.
My little meditation/ yoga space.

New Teeki pants... I'm a flower child.

There is a jungle outside.

A tangle of trees.

Leaves that extend for miles.

Birds come out of hiding.

Feast on the feeders.

Hummingbirds zip by with hangry intentions.

Today is the first day of July 2018.

I have to get dressed for work soon.

But now I'm sipping on a delish green smoothie.

(recipe below)

Listening to meditation music.

Letting the beeswax candles burn and help purify the air.

I cleansed our space today.

An intention of starting fresh and with good vibes.

Simple but effective.

Restorative yoga.

Photos.

Gazing at birds.

Playing with the pups.

Butter coffee with mushroom elixirs.

I'm going to turn each day into a spa day.

Just make it normal for my life.

So each day I can fly on clouds through a green jungle of tangled leaves and feathers.

Just because.

I choose to.

SX-70 Impossible Film (Expired Round Ed)

Camping.

That is essentially what we are doing right now.

In a really cool ass adobe casita.

It's been rather stuffy and hot in the evenings.

We are trying to keep the windows open at night and then close out most of the light during the day to keep the house cool.

But when the day temperatures soar near mid 90s and the evening temps only get to mid 60s...

We camp.

I'm looking at fans today after work.

***

This morning I woke up to clouds.

You can smell the rain in the air.

It reminds me of coast life.

Was that a dream?

To be able to walk four blocks to the beach...

Just missing our beach life some days.

Well most days now that it is hot.

Well.

I just wanted to write a little on a grey day.

Still my favorite kind of day.

After all the changes I've put myself through.

I still love the grey days.

Chill Morning

Tuesday, May 22, 2018

55 degrees outside.

listening to the acequia flow fast after yesterday's downpour.

we had our first thunderstorm here.

I was working but Josh said it was intense at the house.

down limbs and huge water puddles.

such a nice reprieve from all the dry air.

the sun is coming back out today.

but it sure was nice to have some rain.

i'm typing with a sore finger so this post is difficult.

lol

I snapped a polaroid earlier this morning to capture the new lavender buds blooming against the wood pile.

the fresh air is ripe with flowers blooming.

I wish I could capture smells.

it's a mix of rich florals, ice water, lush green leaves and damp earth.

makes my nose happy.

ok

time to give my finger a break, this typing hurts more than it should.
