Once Upon A Tuesday

Once upon a Tuesday when winds howled and skies screamed grey.

A girl chose to wear flip flops and go about her day.

The cold was unforgiving and the rain played hide and seek.

What a weird weather day she pondered especially with summer so close to its peak.

Hail dropped like ice picks and stung her little toes.

The cold wrapped around her and chilled her to her bones.

Should she go get her mittens and thick woolen socks?

Or could she run quickly dodging the grasp of cold and slip and slide rocks?

Would you know the sun came out and teased us with its rays.

The heat of its energy brought life into the such a grey and moody daze.

Of course the sunshine was short lived and was gone within a flash.

The winds came back full force and the rains played a hopscotch dash.

The weather on the Northwest coast is such a game to play.

One moment it is sunny and the next the rain is here to stay.

So a word of advice for those flower children that like to bare their toes.

Always carry a change of shoes because you never know how this weather blows.

Just thinking it would be fun to write stories for kids to read.

LOL

I could imagine how I'd illustrate it and everything.

I'll just keep dreaming for now.

Happy Tuesday!

The weather really is just as crazy as it sounds in my story.

And I really do have flip flops on.
